I'VE BEEN QUESTIONING MYSELF ABOUT THE PROBLEMATICS THAT NEW TECHNOLOGIES GENERATE IN HUMAN'S MIND. DO WE REALLY DISTINGUISH NOWADAYS WHAT IS REALITY OR FICTION/IMAGINATION?

This Analog VR Goggles (VR - Virtual Reality) installation offers multiple experiences that places one in-between reality and imagination, like character's state of mind. With an interest in perception, body and visual experience, the work challenges our control and knowledge over imagination and seeks for what it means to be human in an age of technology. The principal performers are the headphones and hands, that constantly interact with the models, providing a strange and captivating mixture of theatre and film feeling that’s all made manually.

J.G.Ballard dystopian narratives are my main reference to the reality in an extreme point of view, or maybe not that far from the actual nowadays' reality. I'm very interested, and uncomfortably fascinated, with the manipulative unreal space that digital technology offers to our society that have a profound psychological engagement, but very little physical. Sometimes to the point of ignoring the physical body and material space. This retreat into the psychological space resonates with various mental disturbances, neurosis and psychosis, found in Zone of Terror narrative where it is played out in relation to physical materiality in the shape of a performative-installation. It tells the story about a subject who is about to have a nervous breakdown due to long hours working programming a replica of the human nervous system in the shape of a "therapeutic building". In order to recover, he moves to the building but, at some point, it takes over him psychologically and he starts encountering doubles of himself. Moreover, his psychiatrist stimulates his retreat into his imagination through giving him a drug cocktail and a "helping book" called "The Analysis of Psychotic Time: by Kretschmer".
