Stravinsky's opera-oratorio performed through Jocasta's Diary
Jocasta dictates what happens on stage through her diary, written life and projected on screen. In an immersive experience, where the fourth wall is avoided, the audience is placed in the centre of the action, making them part of the piece itself as "people of Thebes". This speculative work searches for the possibilities of translating Jocasta's conflict of being Oedipus wife and mother into a narrative space. It consists of a mixed media design within seven boxes/platforms, which each one belonging to a specific a character/encounter, and a big screen behind Jocasta's bedroom. Life-feed cameras are incorporated inside of Jocasta's bedroom, exposing her intimacy and therefore, allowing the audience to access visually the inside of her bedroom and specially her thoughts being written on letters.
